Sam has over 15 years of top-tier management consulting, multi-national operating and entrepreneurial business development experience. He is a former management consultant with McKinsey & Company (USA) where he served leading global industrial, VC and PE clients. He has worked in senior business development, strategy, technical and operations management positions with Shell, BP, ICI, Exxon and Dr Mehta Hospitals in Europe, Latin America and Asia. Over his career, he has held many senior leadership positions within various family businesses including healthcare, food manufacturing and trading. He is a graduate of the Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University. He is also a Chartered Chemical Engineer (CEng), Professional European Engineer (EUR ING), a Chartered Scientist (CSci) and a Chartered Global Environmentalist (CEnv). He is a Sainsbury Management Fellow (SMF) and a TIE Charter Member.
Vellesh Narayanan – Founding Partner
Vellesh has over 15 years of diverse technology product marketing and M&A experience with Wind River, Logilent Learning Systems, BroadLogic and Adaptec (USA). He led the Wind River acquisition and assimilation efforts in the networking technology space and was responsible for successful acquisition of two companies. He has significant experience in strategic alliances, business development and merger / acquisition integration. Over the last 3 years, Vellesh has developed significant Indian operating experience in construction materials, textiles and consulting, helping scale a number of Indian companies significantly.
Rahul Mehrotra – Business Advisor
Rahul has over 13 years of top-tier management consulting, multi-national operating and business development experience. He is a former management consultant with McKinsey & Company (Singapore) where he served leading oil and gas companies, sovereign wealth funds and PE clients. His engagements focussed on upstream value creation, large scale organizational change, operations transformation, client capability building and analyzing potential oilfield services investment opportunities in Asia. Prior to joining McKinsey, Rahul held a variety of positions in operations, business development and corporate strategy with Transocean and Schlumberger. He holds the distinction of serving most large NOCs of India, SE Asia and Middle East. Rahul holds a B-Tech in Electrical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology-Kanpur and an MBA from INSEAD, France. He is a member of Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE).
Praneet Gupta – Business Advisor
Praneet has spent the last three years working with several international clients helping them develop corporate and functional strategies to grow the organizations effectively. He has worked with the World Economic Forum on the economic and technical feasibility of Biofuels, for their 2008 Davos meeting. He is also a mentor to two companies with New Ventures Initiative, a CII and World Resource Institute JV, that focuses on supporting sustainable entrepreneurial ventures. Praneet has previously worked with Boston Consulting Group (BCG) for a year helping clients on strategic issues and for about five years with Applied Materials, a leader in semiconductor and solar equipment, in a variety of functional roles including R&D, Product Management and Sales. His current interest is in supporting startups in the clean-tech and water space. Praneet has an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management, where he was awarded the prestigious Austin Scholarship for being a potential future business and social leader. He also holds a B-Tech in Chemical Engineering from IIT-Bombay.
Akshay Shetty – Business Advisor
Akshay has deep roots in the IT industry with over a decade of global business experience in technology services and M&A. He also has a diversified international business management experience serving startups as well as leaders like Gartner Group and TATA in USA, Canada, India, Europe and Middle East in various key roles. During the course of his career, he has served several Fortune clients like Lockheed Martin, ORACLE, Motorola, Bank of Montreal, Holiday Inn, AT&T, Deutsche Bank as well as several state governments in North America. Prior to joining IT People Ltd as Senior Vice President, he was associated with CyberWerx Software which had triple digit growth every year since he joined the senior management team in 2004. He has led several mergers & acquisitions in his career including that of CyberWerx with IT People Ltd. At IT People Ltd, he played a key role in it's GDR issue and also in the joint venture with Reliance Money and Bombay Stock Exchange to set up India's first Bullion Spot Exchange. He also holds academic credentials in engineering and business management from Southern University, USA; Boston University, USA & Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore.
